This post is the second of a four-part series I have created to help sweep a cleansing wind through the fog that has settled around some parts of the Law of Attraction. If you missed the first, which focused on debunking two major myths about the LOA, check it out here.
The questions I answer here stem from a talk I had a couple weeks ago with my partner, Brandon. He is the King of looking at things from all angles, and his curiosity into this matter sprung forth a conversation I felt compelled to share with you.
Today’s post will center around 6 helpful tips, or what I like to refer as “bonus points,” when playing the game of manifesting.
Without further adieu, let us return to the original conversation.
So you’re saying that if someone thinks positive thoughts, and believes they will come true, everything in their life will be great?
Me: Notttt quite that simple. As we addressed in the previous question, your positive thoughts have to lead to inspired action, otherwise nothing in your physical reality will change.
On top of that, there are some key points some neglect to mention when teaching manifestation.
I will use the race car analogy to explain. If you want to drive a fast car, the thing that pops into everyone’s mind is, well, buy a car that goes fast! But there is so much more to it than that. The novice driver will know you need to put a certain type of fuel in the tank, and ensure the fluids are flushed regularly. What will only occur to the expert driver is that if you want to go fast, faster than anyone else on the track, there are many high-performance tweaks you need to make to that vehicle.
Understand that you are the driver, and the car is your best potential life.
If you are clear about what you want, are able to envision your desires coming to fruition, and can feel a good feeling from those visions, great! You are beginning to grasp the basics of manifesting! You have bought the fast car. If your positive thoughts are leading to inspired, positive action, awesome! You are helping maintain that vehicle. But, if you feel like something is “missing”, like the pedal is on the floor but you’re not going nearly as fast as you should be, it is because you’re missing this key information:
Whatever you do to LOWER your vibration will SLOW and LIMIT your POWER to manifest.
Whatever you do to RAISE your vibration will INCREASE the STRENGTH and SPEED of your POWERS.
I know you want to attract allllll the good things, people, and experiences as fast as possible. Help yourself do that by using these…
6 Simple (but POWERFUL) Vibration Raising Tips:
#1 – Drink TONS of clean, purified water.
I cannot stress this enough. Our bodies are made up of more than 50% water. If you do not drink enough, or you drink unfiltered water that is littered with chemicals, pesticide residue, and neurotoxins such as chlorine and fluoride, you put an immense strain on your cells to mitigate those negative effects.
Bring a water bottle with you everywhere you go. My family and I have done this for as long as I can remember. We are known as the “water bottle gang.” Once you have that bottle around you, sipping all the time just becomes habit. Avoid plastic as much as possible, and use glass or stainless steel instead. As a rough idea, I fill my 800ml water bottle at least 3 times per day. That is not taking into account hot summer days or exercise, which demand at least one or two more fills.
I have a Berkey system that uses gravity-fed carbon-block filtration to eliminate harmful substances from my drinking water. It preserves the natural minerals you want to consume, and it comes with additional filters to rid neurotoxins like fluoride and chlorine. Luckily I live in BC, where fluoride is not added to our tap water, but if you live anywhere else in Canada, that stuff is in there. If you do not think drinking filtered water is important, I suggest you dig through your hometown’s online water treatment records. Your mind will be blown.
#2 – SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP!
Yaaa I know, you’ve heard this a million times before. But I can only speak from experience, and experience has taught me that when I get less than the amount my body wants, it has to play “catch up” the next day because my systems were not able to fully reset over night. Everyone is different, and only you will know how much you need per night. Remember that upon waking, you should feel alert and refreshed.
The other reason I emphasize sleep so much, is because we need it to be able to play in our dreams. To instill the importance of and power that resides within our dreams, I will share this quote I wrote:
Dreams are the staging environment to the drama of waking life. When we learn to transfer the total non-resistance we experience through our dreams into waking reality, we hold the key to our Infinite Creative Power.
#3 – Eat high vibrational, plant-based foods.
This one goes without saying, because, well, come on. It’s gotta hold some weight if I’ve dedicated more than half of my site to it!
When we consume things like meat, dairy, coffee, and alcohol, our vibration drops and we limit our speed around the racetrack.
We need to eat to sustain ourselves, and the opportunity to raise our vibration lies in healthy, organic, plant-based foods. I hope you see from the recipes section of this blog that eating plant-based doesn’t have to be difficult, and it sure as hell doesn’t mean you have to cry while eating carrots all day long!
#4 – Trade a scarcity mentality for one of abundance.
Most people believe there is a finite number attached to everything in this world. Ie: a limited amount of wealth, happiness, good jobs, good people, etc. When you think in this manner, you actually cut yourself off from the INFINITE ABUNDANCE of The Universe. Remember, there was no beginning, there will be no end, there is only change: evolution and expansion. It goes for The Universe, it goes for you, and it goes for the material world in which we live. When you think there is “not enough,” you not only attract that vibration right back to you, but you set yourself up for unhealthy competition. When you think, “I better get this before someone else does,” you work against your own evolution. To help swap this mindset for an attitude of abundance, repeat this affirmation to yourself:
The Universe always provides for me. There is always more than enough to go around. Not only do I always get everything I ask for, but I get MORE than what I ask for so that I can share the excess with others. It feels incredible to share the beautiful gifts I receive from The Universe, and the more I share, the more The Universe bestows upon me.
#5 – Exercise.
Our bodies are designed to move, and the more stagnant they become, so too become our lives. As within, so without. Make it your mission to get some form of exercise EVERY DAY, even if it’s just going for a twenty-minute walk around your neighbourhood.
When my body wants to move, it sends me a message through anxious energy (note the awareness of the FEELING you get), and I immediately stop whatever I am doing so I can expel that energy.
I strongly encourage you to move in free-form, organic ways as much as possible. Running and biking are great, but they force repetitive movement of the muscles in the same direction, all the time. After a while, that strains the muscles, and limits their freedom to move in all directions. Because of this, one of the best ways to move your body, to tooootally move and groove into your body, is to dance.
Dancing is so much more than exercise. It is art. It is self-expression. It is confidence, self-awareness and the Ultimate honouring of your Infinite, Divine nature.
By no means do you have to go join a dance class to get groovin’! One of my favourite ways to dance is to turn my tunes up really high at home, close my eyes, and let my hips and limbs guide me wherever. My siblings and I used to have “Drum and Bass dance parties” at my mom’s house every week or so. We would throw on costumes from the tinkle trunk, crank the bass, and let our jungle monkey instincts take over.
If you haven’t experienced dancing in this way, I know it might be intimidating at first. I recommend taking a friend to a local electronic music show. The dance floors at those shows are some of the most open, welcoming, and free-from-judgment places I have ever been. Not to mention, while in the middle of a crowded dance floor, drenched in my own sweat, I have experienced the greatest moments of exaltation in my entire life.
#6 – APPRECIATE.
I don’t need to elaborate much here. The more you show thanks for something, the more opportunities The Universe will provide you with to be thankful. Nothing is too small to be thankful for. Here are some of the things I thank The Universe for every day (out loud and also in my head).
- I tell my dogs how much I appreciate their patience in waiting to be fed and walked so I can get my work done. (Yes, I tell them out loud. Animals are highly sensitive to energies, and though they may not(?) be able to decipher the exact meaning of our words, they feel the loving vibration we send them with our thanks.)
- I tell Mother Nature how thankful I am for another beautiful day (evening if it’s pouring rain or negative twenty degrees outside).
- I tell my shower how thankful I am for the hot water it runs over my body, especially on those negative twenty-degree days 😉.
- I tell The Universe how thankful I am for the opportunity to be a Creator in this beautiful game of life.
- I tell my partner how much I love him, and how thankful I am for his incredible help around the house, and for his amazingly thoughtful gifts and kindness.
- I tell my family how grateful I am for their unparalleled friendship, their never-ending support, and their total, utter weirdness.
- I tell my body how thankful I am for its ability to withstand the physical demands I put on it, and for its amazing power to heal itself.
- I tell my friends how thankful I am to have their talents to inspire me, and their generosity to uplift me.
- I thank every living thing and creature I come into contact with for teaching me whatever lesson I am meant to learn in that exact moment.
There are many more vibration raising tips I could share. However, I feel the ones I’ve listed are some of the most important. If you can successfully implement one of these at a time into your life, you are going to be well onto your way to driving at new levels of speed behind the wheel of manifestation.
However, do not stress if you are out of alignment with all of these tips! The amazing thing about the LOA is that once you start to better one area of your life, all the other areas start to change for the better as well. Make happiness your primary goal, and you will always find yourself in a good place.
